When was Overseas Speedometer founded?

Overseas Speedometer has been repairing speedometers and odometers since 1988.

Is there a warranty?

The repairs are warranted for one full year. Please do not consider your unit factory refurbished or rebuilt. The repairs we perform are guaranteed for one year but this guarantee excludes damage caused by improper installation and any failure which is not related to our original repair. We ask that you save your repair receipt so that we can easily determine the scope of our original repair.

Will the mileage stay the same?

Yes, with the exception of the 100–200 additional test miles accumulated while bench testing the repair.

Do you sell gears and other speedometer parts?

No. Parts are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. We keep our parts for use in our repairs.

Do you offer a military, car club, or senior citizen discount?

No.

What methods of payment do you accept for the repair?

We accept cash, money orders, C.O.D., personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. We do not accept American Express or Paypal.

When are you open?

We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Please wait a reasonable amount of shipping time before you call.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, via the U.S. Postal Service.

Do you sell speedometers?

Occasionally.

Do you buy cores?

Yes, we prefer to give you a credit toward your repair cost.

When do you require payment?

Some clients send their credit card information on our printable shipping form along with their broken instrument. We prefer to have your credit card information available before we complete the repair so that there will be no delay in shipping. Please call us with credit card information after you ship your package so we can ship when the repair is completed. We can call you for credit card information after completion of the repair, but if we have difficulty making contact the shipment will be delayed. Others send a check or money order with their unit. We do accept cash, although this is typically from in-person transactions, and we do not encourage you to send cash through the mail. C.O.D orders are also accepted.

Who pays for shipping?

You pay to ship the unit to us in addition to the cost of the repair. The total cost is the repair and shipping costs plus a handling fee

May I deliver my instrument to your shop for repair?

If you are in the area, please call first (512-329-8200), before you drop it by. Our hours are generally 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday Through Thursday.

What is the typical turnaround time for a repair?

Automobiles 1-2 weeks ; BMW Cycles 2-3 weeks

What is the basis of your estimated repair cost?

Our estimates are based on years of experience and your description of the problems you are having with the instrument. Please don't hesitate to request a quote
